Global Warming and environmental pollution are not new problems - and most of the solutions aren't new either. This inconvenient truth has been around for a long time and these voices from the past are here to tell us what we can do to make the world a cleaner, greener place. Every little step moves us forward but it requires personal action. Remember, "every time history repeats itself the price goes up".

Made from 100% recycled material. All footage and audio are from the public domain.

tabber.gifWinner: Chickens Enlighten, Humans Change, World Improves

We are devotees to the cult of CFLs. The numbers add up for everyone, whether or not someone is an environmentalist or on any particular side of a spectrum of beliefs, and it's such a supremely simple path to improvement that fits nicely within the larger issues and solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We put this video together for the Convenient Truths contest over the past few weeks, and hope you enjoy it.

tabber.gifWinner: Footprints

Footprints aims to inspire a shift in daily living and raise consciousness about the impact of our individual carbon footprints. Scenic timelapse imagery, from the Grand Canyon to California's coasts, is intertwined with a couple's journey that begins with a calculation of their own annual CO2 emissions.

tabber.gifWinner: Reality in the Self-Checkout Lane

A quirky self-checkout lane tells a shopper the true costs of what he's buying.

tabber.gifWinner: Cool Notebooks For A Hot Planet

A mini-documentary describing the Whitman College paper campaign's project to make notebooks out of re-used paper and cereal boxes. The notebooks reduce waste before its recycled, require less energy to produce and transport, and have a smaller carbon footprint than conventional notebooks (both recycled and non-recycled). The video shows the few easy steps it takes to make a notebook in your own community. Enjoy!

tabber.gifWinner: I Am A Climate Activist

What can you do that will really make a difference? How many polar bears does it take to fill Benaroya Hall? Wanna see where the new tideline will be if we don't do something about the climate crisis? It's all here. Phil Mitchell, real-life Climate Activist and founder of 2People.org offers his experiences and insight in this spunky, information-dense two minutes of real solutions. Produced by 2People in association with GALLIxSEE::media::. Directed and animated by Amy Burgess

tabber.gifWinner: Families Fight Back

Families Fight Back is about simple ways that families can conserve energy, reduce waste, and join the growing effort to beat global warming. This film starts with our own family, but its not just about us. It's about our friends, community and country working together for a sustainable future. Families Fight Back was shot, in spurts, over one weekend and edited in about a day. We made it for the Treehugger.com Convenient Truths: A GreenVideo Contest because we were dazzled and inspired by the range of submissions (and we've seen them all!). If people could feel the energy the filmmakers putinto these projects, our planet would be a much better and safer place.
